Frequently asked questions

What is the remuneration?

For each vehicle movement, the trade plate driver would get £30 basic collection fee (BCF) and £0.20 a mile after 60 miles.

Example 1: 300 mile vehicle movement
300 miles - 60 miles = 240 miles
240 miles x £0.20 = £48
£30 BCF + £48 = £78

Example 2: 50 mile vehicle movement
£30 BCF

We also have a bonus scheme coming in the next few weeks.

How many vehicles movements would a driver do a week?

This is dependent on various factors. Usually, we expect drivers to complete approximately 15 vehicle movements a week. Having said that, some drivers are doing more than 15 vehicle movements a week. There are opportunities to work Saturdays. Usually, there are no vehicle movements on Sundays, Bank Holidays & other public holidays.

It is a weekly remuneration cycle, which is sent to the self-employed trade plate drivers bank account on a Friday (Usually same day). The remuneration would be for all vehicle movements completed Monday to Friday by 5pm the prior week.

Who covers the public transport / taxi costs in-between movements?

The trade plate driver would initially cover any public transport / taxi costs and this would be reimbursed the following week on Friday, along with the remuneration.

Having said that, usually we have drivers work together to reduce public transport / taxi cost. If public transport / taxi is required, there would be a experienced designated driver that would cover the costs for other drivers and we would reimburse that driver.
